![]() ![]() Overall Review: I jumped on this as soon as it was on sale. ![]() What about us ESDF fans? We don't have to move our fingers for typing. Replacement keys only look right on WASD. On-key lights for capslock, winlock, etc are cool Would have liked to see a function key on the left side instead of the right side I bought this keyboard to play osu! (F2P music/rhythm based game for Windows) and was having a bit of timing issues with hitting beats properly. If your buying a mechanical keyboard for timing-intensive button pressing, it may take a bit of time to get used to it, unless you've had previous experience with the same key switch. Also do note that this is the Cherry MX Blue version (there are other models with different switches) ![]() If you've experienced an IBM Model M keyboard (buckling spring), this keyboard is both quieter, and has less resistance. It may be hard to adjust when you first take it out of the box, but it will eventually loosen up slightly over time it seems. The cord has a braided-feel to it, and isn't as flimsy as some other plastic-cords you may have come in-contact with. PS/2 tends to have lower-latency, and with full-key rollover, there's no real reason not to use it. Overall Review: If your Motherboard has the PS/2 port, I might suggest using it with this keyboard. Overall though, I've experienced no "real" con to this keyboard, and it performs as intended :) While I've had no issue with this personally, some people have reported the keyboard to slide around a bit more than wanted because of this. There also seems to be no rubber-padding on the keyboard-stand legs. ![]() This once again doesn't mean anything about how the keyboard work of course :) I might also wish the casing was black instead of the color it is (metallic-brown?). Personal preference here, but I wish the LED's for the Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll Lock keys were blue instead of red. To my knowledge, this does not mean anything different at all to the performance of this keyboard, but you may or may not like the abundance or lack-of branding. Newer models I believe only have the CM logo on the left-front side. The older models have the CM branding in-between the Esc and F1 keys, above the arrow pad, "QUICK FIRE" on the Spacebar, CM logos on both Windows keys, and a CM logo on the left-front side. The casing is pretty durable as well, and has a unique finish to it.Ĭons: I don't think you can tell which model casing you will get. Pros: It's small-profile, mechanical, has a detachable, durable cord, and works with either PS/2 or USB. Windows Keys disabled GAME modeGaming mode disables both Windows keys to prevent accidental activation of the Windows Start function so your game won't be interrupted.Removable braided USB cable with cable routingThe removable braided USB cable with cable routing prevents tangle wires and provides extra flexibility.Multimedia shortcutsWith the multimedia shortcuts, control the volume, play back or pause music or videos at the touch of a button.Extra key-caps bundled with keycap toolThe CM Storm QuickFire Rapid comes with extra key-caps and keycap tool, which help games easily replace their gaming control keys.N-key rollover function in PS/2 modeThe N-key rollover function permits keys to be pressed at the same time in PS2 mode without conflict, a great advantage for gamers.Mechanical Cherry MX switchesThe mechanical Cherry blue key switches deliver fast response on each key, 2 stage of press feeling, click sound inside, 50 million life cycle and comfortable typing for long term use. ![]()
